“I know with his expertise and in-depth knowledge of the Lumen organization, Regis will be able to mobilize teams and strengthen our position in the market, while carrying the values that drive us forward,” Sonepar Canada President Serge Leblanc said in an Aug. 25 news release.
Acquired in 1984, Lumen represented Sonepar’s first presence outside of Europe and established a foothold in the Canadian market. Sonepar brands Lumen as a leading distributor of electric and automation material in Quebec, with its products and services designed for sectors of commercial, residential, industrial, OEM, institutional, municipal and mining.
Sonepar was ranked No. 2 on MDM’s 2025 Top Distributor’s List for Electrical/Data/Security and No. 8 for HVACR.
