France-based electrical supplies distributor Sonepar appointed Serge Leblanc — currently president of its Lumen Canada subsidiary — as interim President of Sonepar Canada.
Leblanc succeeds former Sonepar Canada President Georgie McClean, who the company said has chosen to pursue a new opportunity outside the electrical industry. He led Sonepar Canada since March 2024.
Leblanc joined Lumen in 1997 and brings over 30 years of experience in the electrical industry. He was named President of Lumen in October 2011 and is recognized for his innovative leadership. According to Sonepar, Lumen has remained one of its top-performing companies under Leblancs’ guidance.

“We are happy to see Serge take on this interim role and look forward to the contributions he will bring to Sonepar Canada,” Sonepar Americas President Rob Taylor said in a May 26 news release.
Sonepar also announced the promotion of Rob Thibeault to President of its Brampton, Ontario-based Robertson Electric. Former President Rib Campbell will move into a broader advisory role within Sonepar.
The company was No. 2 on MDM’s Top Distributors List for Electrical, Data and Security on account of its Americas operations.
