Diversified industrial chemicals manufacturer DuPont has appointed D.G. Macpherson, Chairman and CEO of W.W. Grainger, to its board of directors, effective immediately.

D.G. brings deep expertise in operational excellence, supply chain optimization and business transformation, which will be invaluable as we execute our growth strategy and deliver long-term value to shareholders, customers and employees,” DuPont CEO Lori Koch said in a Jan. 20 news release. “His passion for innovation and commitment to continuous improvement make him a natural fit for our board. We are excited to leverage his leadership experience and insights as we shape the future of DuPont.”
Grainger decorated MDM’s 2025 Top Distributors Lists, including No. 1 rankings for Industrial Supplies, MRO and Safety. Currently in his 10th year as Grainger’s CEO, Macpherson oversees the company’s global strategic and operational vision.
Before his CEO role, Macpherson served as Grainger’s Chief Operating Officer, as well as Senior Vice President and Group President – Global Supply Chain and International. In these roles, he led the development of corporate strategy and continuous improvement, the global supply chain organization, the company’s single-channel online business model and international operations in Asia and Europe.
Wilmington, DE-based DuPont had 2024 revenue of $12.4 billion and will report its 2025 full year results on Feb. 10.
