Dry bulk packaging solutions distributor Gravis Global announced March 16 that it has acquired Procon Pacific — a like distributor of flexible intermediate bulk containers (FIBCs) and BOPP woven bags.

Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Founded in 2004 and based in Lombard, IL, Procon Pacific’s products serve customers across industries of chemicals, food and minerals from its operations in the United States, India and China.

Meanwhile, Gravis —headquartered nearby in Rolling Meadows, IL,— similarly is a provider of FIBCs, bulk liners, pallets and other engineered packaging materials serving end markets of food, agriculture, chemicals, pharmaceuticals and industrial goods.

Gravis is owned by private equity firm New Water Capital.

“Procon Pacific brings complementary expertise and relationships that enhance Gravis’s value proposition. We are excited about the growth opportunities this combination creates for customers and the broader organization,” said Matt Carlos, Principal at New Water Capital. “The acquisition of Procon Pacific is a strong strategic fit for Gravis and further advances our vision of building a scaled, market leading bulk packaging platform with differentiated capabilities and customer reach,” added Nate Douglas, Vice President at New Water Capital.
