Composite decking and outdoor living products distributor Decks & Docks Company has acquired San Diego-based J&W Lumber — a provider of premium outdoor building materials throughout Southern California.
The June 1 deal gives Clearwater, FL-based Decks & Docks six new retail locations and marks the company’s entry into the West Coast market. J&W Lumber offers decking, railing and accessories to homeowners, contractors, municipalities, dealers, manufacturers and architects.
“J&W has a long history of operational excellence and providing its customers with the products they need to get the job done right,” Decks & Docks CEO Shawn Roberts said in the announcement. “We are thrilled to welcome Clyde and his dedicated team into the Decks & Docks family and believe their highly complementary outdoor building products offerings and reputation for providing exceptional customer service will be essential to helping us expand across the country.”
Decks & Docks President Tyler Wallace said Southern California is the company’s “perfect starting point” for West Coast expansion, citing the region’s year-round outdoor climate.
The acquisition is Decks & Docks’ second announced deal of 2026. In March, the company acquired Pro Deck Supply — a specialty decking materials supplier serving the Minneapolis metropolitan area. That deal gave Decks & Docks its first Minnesota location and first location in the Upper Midwest.
Founded in 1991, Decks & Docks operates 76 locations across 24 states. The company offers composite decking, railings, pilings, vinyl seawall and related outdoor living building products.
