White Cap to Acquire Iowa-Based Gierke Robinson

The century-old contractor equipment and concrete supplies distributor will add four Iowa locations and expand White Cap’s product and service capabilities across portions of the Midwest.

Construction supplies distributor White Cap has signed a definitive agreement to acquire the business of Gierke Robinson Company, an Iowa-based distributor of concrete accessories and tools that also provides equipment rentals and repair services.

Financial terms of the pending transaction were not disclosed.

Founded in 1919, Gierke Robinson serves concrete, paving and general contractors across eastern Iowa, western Illinois and southwestern Wisconsin. The company operates four Iowa locations in Davenport, Bettendorf, Dubuque and Waterloo.

Gierke Robinson’s offerings include construction equipment and supplies, decorative concrete products, safety gear and equipment rentals. The company also services and repairs equipment from a range of manufacturers.

White Cap said the acquisition will expand its presence and product offering in the Midwest.

“Gierke Robinson has had an incredible reputation as an expert in construction equipment for more than a century,” White Cap CEO Alan Sollenberger said in the July 13 announcement. “We are excited to welcome their talented associates to the White Cap family, enabling our combined teams to offer our customers expanded presence and greater service capabilities in a growing Midwestern market.”

Gierke Robinson owner Terry Kilburg said joining White Cap will provide the company with expanded solutions and resources while maintaining its focus on customer service.

The agreement marks White Cap’s fourth announced acquisition of 2026. The Atlanta-based distributor acquired specialty concrete products manufacturer VoidForm Products in January, followed by its combination with Colony Hardware in February. The Colony deal added more than 60 locations across the eastern and central U.S. White Cap acquired Albuquerque, NM-based Concrete Systems Inc. and its El Paso, TX, location in May.

White Cap distributes concrete accessories and chemicals, tools and equipment, building materials, fasteners, erosion and waterproofing products and safety supplies. The Clayton, Dubilier & Rice portfolio company operates approximately 575 branches across North America, with more than 12,000 employees serving about 200,000 customers.
