Ontario, CA-based Index Industries announced Aug. 3 that it has acquired WTS Solutions — a specialized manufacturer of custom-formed thermoplastic materials.
The acquisition brings WTS’ secondary processing of KYDEX and other thermoplastic materials in-house, expanding Index Industries’ vertically integrated manufacturing operations. The company said the added capabilities will help improve lead times, product development and manufacturing flexibility.
The acquisition adds specialized secondary processing, custom surface textures and manufacturing capacity to Index Thermoplastics, one of Index Industries’ operating brands. Index said the expanded capabilities will support current customers and new product development for OEMs serving defense, outdoor, industrial and consumer markets.
“This acquisition isn’t simply about adding equipment,” Index Industries President and CEO Shane Bearly said, describing the deal as “bringing another critical manufacturing process under one roof.”
WTS Solutions founder Paul Warren will continue working with Index Industries as a consultant. He will assist with technology transfer, process development, new pattern creation and future manufacturing initiatives.
“Index has been our primary partner for many years,” Warren said.
The deal follows Index’s September 2025 acquisition of SpringFast, gaining two distribution facilities in California and Virginia.
Index Industries distributes and manufactures engineered fasteners, advanced thermoplastic materials, spring steel fastening systems and industrial components. Its brands include Index Fasteners, Index Thermoplastics and Springfast. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
