Houston-based Lonestar Electric Supply announced Oct. 8 that it has acquired Huntsville, AL-based Redstone Electric Supply, marking its entry into Alabama.
The acquisition closed Oct. 5. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Redstone supplies electrical equipment, parts and lighting solutions for commercial, industrial and federal construction projects. Like Lonestar, it also provides project management, custom logistics and financial structuring to support material tracking and project execution from bidding through completion. Both companies are ABB channel partners.
“With this acquisition, we are establishing a foothold in Alabama, starting with the Huntsville market which is home to a diverse economy anchored by aerospace, defense, advanced manufacturing and technology,” Lonestar CEO Jeff Metzler said. “Customers should continue to see excellent service during this transition.”
Redstone President Blake Hulgan said the combination will expand the resources available to its team.
“Joining Lonestar provides our local team with the inventory, solutions and scale to deliver for our partners across the southeast,” Hulgan said.
The deal is Lonestar’s second acquisition of 2026, following its July 8 purchase of Industrial Cable Solutions in West Monroe, LA. That business supplies electrical and data products for commercial, industrial and data communications applications, expanding Lonestar’s Louisiana presence and wire, cable and data communications capabilities.
Later in July, Lonestar announced plans for a 78,000-square-foot distribution center in El Paso, TX. Expected to open this fall with about 20 employees, the facility is intended to support commercial and industrial customers across the region and neighboring New Mexico.
Those moves followed the June launch of Lonestar CORE, a division within Lonestar Electric Industrial Supply focused on complex power infrastructure projects and capital investments. CORE — short for CapEx, Optimization, Reliability and Execution — supports projects including data centers, utility interconnections, power generation, renewable energy and oil and gas pipelines.
Lonestar ranked No. 12 on MDM’s 2026 Top Electrical/Data/Security Distributors List with $1.7 billion in 2025 revenue.
