Electrical and industrial supplies distributor Border States has appointed Joshua Dickinson as Executive Vice President of Enterprise Strategy and Corporate Development, effective Oct. 1.
Dickinson also joins the Fargo, ND-based company’s executive committee. He previously served as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for Schneider Electric’s North America region.
Schneider appointed Dickinson to that regional CFO position in 2022. He joined the manufacturer in 2015 as controller and CFO for its U.S. Industry division and subsequently held roles including CFO of ASCO and North America Deputy CFO. His experience included leading North American financial planning and analysis, supporting the U.S. country president and overseeing a regional finance transformation.
“The more I learned about Border States, the more impressed I became with what the company has built and the opportunity ahead,” Dickinson said. “There is a unique combination here of strong local relationships, significant scale, ambitious growth plans and employee ownership. I’m looking forward to learning from the employee-owners who know this business best and working alongside them to build on that strong foundation, simplify complexity and help Border States scale while creating lasting value for our customers and employee-owners.”
The appointment follows a series of leadership moves at Border States during 2026.
In July, the distributor promoted 23-year company veteran Kelly Rudolf to Vice President of Information Security, overseeing cybersecurity resilience, enterprise risk and security support for growth and digital transformation.
Earlier appointments included Andrew Mikulak as VP of Distribution in April and Zach Kincaid as VP of Procurement in February. In January, Border States promoted Richelle Bishoff from VP of Procurement to VP of Industrial Solutions and hired Charlie Hoertz as its first VP of Digital Transformation. Hoertz’s responsibilities encompass technology, data, artificial intelligence, process automation and IoT.
“We are extremely fortunate to have someone with Josh’s experience, background and drive join us,” said Jason Seger, Border States President and CEO. “He will work across our organization to connect strategy with execution. Josh will help us identify the opportunities that will create the greatest long-term value for customers, vendors and employee-owners.”
The 100% employee-owned distributor serves construction, industrial and utility customers. Dickinson’s announcement cited $5 billion in 2025 annual sales and more than 3,700 employee-owners.
