Safety and emergency-response equipment distributor MES Life Safety announced Oct. 2 that it acquired the assets of Pro-Co, a Winter Springs, FL-based industrial safety, instrumentation and process-control solutions provider.

Financial terms were not disclosed. MES said the acquisition expands its industrial safety product portfolio, technical expertise and local customer support.

Founded in 1989, Pro-Co operates as a manufacturers’ representative, distributor and service organization serving Florida and Southeast Georgia. It supplies instrumentation and control products and engineered solutions for industrial processes.

Its customers span water and wastewater, power generation and utilities, aerospace, food and beverage, pulp and paper, pharmaceuticals, manufacturing, oil and gas and chemical markets. Pro-Co also provides traceable calibration services for gas-detection equipment from manufacturers including Draeger, Honeywell, Macurco and RKI.

“PRO-CO is a strong strategic fit for MES as we continue to build our capabilities in the industrial safety market,” MES CEO Marvin Riley said.

Riley said Pro-Co’s team, customer relationships and technical offerings complement MES’ industrial safety business. Pro-Co President Mike Gorman said the transaction gives the company access to additional products and capabilities while continuing to serve its customers.

MES said it would work with Pro-Co’s team on the transition for customers, suppliers and employees.

The acquisition follows several additions to MES’ safety distribution business in late 2025.

In December, MES acquired SeaWestern, a Washington-based firefighting and safety equipment supplier, expanding its capabilities across the Western U.S. That followed its November acquisition of New England supplier Northeast Rescue Systems.

In October 2025, MES acquired Safety Inc., a Peabody, MA-based distributor of safety and instrumentation products serving industrial, municipal and utility customers throughout the Northeast. That deal added capabilities in safety instrumentation, calibration and repair.
