On Oct. 6, Balflex and NRP Jones announced the combination of their operations in the United States. Financial terms were not disclosed.
The transaction brings together NRP Jones, an American manufacturer and distributor of hydraulic hose, fittings and assemblies, and Balflex USA, the North American subsidiary of the global high-pressure hydraulic components manufacturer Balflex.
Headquartered in La Porte, Indiana, NRP Jones has spent more than 80 years building a position in North American hydraulics based on domestic manufacturing, technical capability and a national network of distributors and representatives, with particular strength in specialty and oilfield applications.
Balflex, founded in 1963 in Porto, Portugal, is an international manufacturer with a complete hydraulics range, global sourcing, and its own manufacturing in Portugal and Brazil, with a presence in more than 50 countries.
Together, the two companies manufacture on three continents.
“We share the same focus on our customers, and together we can offer them more: a broader range, better service and a stronger partner in the North and South American market,” said the leadership teams of Balflex and NRP Jones in an Oct. 6 news release.
Both the Balflex and NRP Jones brands and product lines will be fully maintained. Customers of both companies will benefit from the group’s scale through a broader product catalog, domestic production and local technical support in the United States, and a more resilient global supply chain, with better availability and service on both sides of the Atlantic, company officials said.
