Pharmaceuticals, medical and laboratory products distributor Cardinal Health will open a new distribution center in Fort Worth, TX.
The 340,000-square-foot facility will support the company’s at-Home Solutions business — a medical supplies provider that serves over five million patients annually in the U.S.
The DC consolidates two existing warehouses into a single, larger location, and adds approximately 74,000-square-feet of inventory capacity while maintaining the current workforce. Once operational, the facility is expected to ship an average of 10,000 packages daily to patients’ homes nationwide.
“Our business plays a critical role in the lives of the patients we serve, and we are honored to continue this important work in the Fort Worth community,” Cardinal Health’s President of at-Home Solutions Rob Schlissberg said in a Jan. 14 news release. “When it comes to delivering medical supplies directly to patients in need, there is absolutely no room for error. Our team in Fort Worth is passionate and committed to delivering on our promises, and I am thrilled to see what they accomplish in this new space.”

The DC will be equipped with advanced robotics and automation technologies to support employees in picking, packing and shipping packages with improved speed, safety and efficiency. The company said the facility’s technology advancements include 74 robots, a 1,500-foot-long automated conveyor system and four automated box-making machines that produce 500 custom boxes per hour.
The facility is expected to be operational by the summer of 2025.
In previous news, Cardinal Health announced the opening of a 317,000-square-foot facility in Boylston, MA, to support its U.S. Medical products and Distribution business on Oct. 30.
The company was No. 3 on MDM’s Top Distributor’s List for Pharmaceuticals & Healthcare.
