Danaher Industrial Spin-Off to Become Fortive

New diversified industrial growth company to be headquartered in Everett, WA.

Danaher Corp. (NYSE: DHR), Washington, DC, has chosen Fortive Corp. as the name for its new diversified industrial growth company expected to launch in 2016.

"Fortive takes its name from the Latin root 'fort' meaning strong," says James A. Lico, current Danaher EVP and future president & CEO of Fortive.

Fortive, with 2014 revenues of $6.3 billion, will be headquartered in Everett, WA, and will employ more than 20,000 people worldwide. The new company will be comprised of two segments, professional instrumentation and industrial technologies.
