Avnet Inc. (Nasdaq: AVT), Phoenix, reported sales for its fiscal third quarter of $4.3 billion, an 8.3% decrease compared to the prior year period. The company reported an operating loss of $115.8 million, compared to operating income of $153.1 million in the year-ago period.
