Electronic components distributor Avnet reported its 2026 first quarter (July-September) financial results on Oct. 29, which were led by strong growth in Asia and its U.K.-based Farnell business unit as well as a return to year-over-year sales growth in the Americas.
Avnet posted 1Q sales of $5.9 billion, up 5.3% year-over-year and up 5.0% sequentially over 4Q25. Americas sales totaled $1.37 billion, up 3.0% YoY and up 3.2% sequentially; and EMEA sales of $1.67 billion fell 0.1% YoY but increased 4.1% sequentially. Meanwhile, Asia sales of $2.86 billion increased 9.9% YoY and increased 6.4% sequentially. The company’s total 1Q gross margin of 10.4% fell 40 basis points year-over-year.
By business unit in 1Q, Electronic Components sales of $5.45 billion rose 4.6% YoY and 5.7% sequentially, while Farnell sales of $398.5 million rose 14.9% YoY and 3.2% sequentially.
Operating profit of $142.5 million rose 0.1% YoY, while operating margin of 2.4%Â decreased 13 bps YoY. Net profit of $52 million trailed the $59 million of a year earlier.
Avnet was No. 2 on MDM’s Top Distributors List for Electronics, and was designated a 2025 MDM Industry Titan for ranking in the top three of that list for the past five consecutive years.
