Flow control and process equipment distributor Tencarva Machinery acquired Atlantic Valve & Equipment.

Terms of the transactions were not disclosed, but Tencarva was back by New York-based private equity firm Bessemer Investment.

Based in Richmond, VA, Atlantic Valve is a manufacturer representative serving the municipal and industrial water/wastewater sectors throughout Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Maryland, Washington, D.C. and West Virginia. The company offers a range of products, including gate valves, butterfly valves, plug valves, hydraulic/electric control valves and ductile iron fabrications and fittings, representing brands like Kennedy Valve, Clow Valve, Onyx Valve and others. The management team at Atlantic Valve will remain in place under Tencarva.

Tencarva’s most recent previous acquisition was of Warren, MI-based Detroit Pump & Mfg. Co., announced on Jan. 9.
