AFC Industries continues its rapid expansion, as the West Chester, OH-based distributor of fasteners and industrial supplies announced its first acquisition of 2024 on March 8 after making seven deals in 2023.
AFC has acquired Philadelphia-based Globe International Corporation — a distributor of fasteners, door hardware and galvanized aircraft cable that specializes in value-added kitting and other services. The company maintains a fully-stocked distribution center in North Kansas City, MO.
Founded in 1950, Globe International Corp. is co-owned by Steven and Michael Weissman.
“AFC offered a unique combination of the resources of a larger business with a customer-focused culture built around the team,” Michael Weissman said in a news release. “They understand our business and what has made it successful, and we could not have found a better fit to position us for future success.”
Terms were not disclosed for the transaction, which marks AFC’s 11th deal since it was acquired by Bertram Capital in April 2021.
“We knew the Globe team because we competed with them through the years in a couple of our key markets,” AFC CEO Kevin Godin added. “We have a lot of respect for them and how they do things and bringing them onboard will significantly strengthen our competitive position in those markets. Most importantly though, it allows us to deepen our bench with a group of talented and experienced people who understand how to work as a team to take excellent care of their customers and each other. That is always an investment we are excited to make.”
Godin discussed the keys to AFC’s acquisition strategy in an August 2023 episode of the MDM Podcast. The company’s previously most recent deal was Chicago Industrial Fasteners, acquired in December 2023.
On MDM’s 2023 Top Distributors Lists, AFC Industries was No. 34 for industrial supplies and No. 8 on fasteners.
