St. Louis-based Core & Main — a distributor of water, wastewater, storm drainage and fire protection products — announced last week an agreement to purchase Trumbull Industries’ waterworks division and an affiliated entity.
Trumbull was founded in 1922 and is split into several divisions. Its waterworks division distributes water and sewer products and services to customers such as municipalities and private water companies.
“Trumbull Industries municipal division has operated for more than 100 years as a trusted partner in the waterworks sector. I look forward to combining two teams that are dedicated to exemplary customer service,” Core & Main chief executive officer Steve LeClair said.
Trumbull’s waterworks division operates four branches in Youngstown and Akron, Ohio, and Bentleyville and Meadville, Pennsylvania. Core & Main — ranked as the No. 10 industrial distributor on Modern Distribution Management’s 2022 Top Distributor list — has over 300 locations nationwide.
“The Trumbull Industries municipal team has built enduring customer relationships through their industry expertise and steadfast service,” Core & Main president Jack Schaller said. “I’m excited to see what we will accomplish together with access to an even broader array of products and services through Core & Main’s national supply chain.”
