Following the acquisition of Municipal Tool & Machinery (Maryland Heights, MO), Indiana-based metalworking solutions distributor Shelton Machinery launched a new parent organization: TSM Group.
Three machinery companies will now do business under their primary monikers and operate under TSM, including:
- Shelton Machinery, which distributes machine tools, automation, grinding and metrology products to metalworking shops in Indiana and Kentucky.
- Municipal Machinery, previously Municipal Tool & Machinery, which distributes metalworking machine tools.
- Concept Machinery, previously Concept Technical Sales before it was acquired by Shelton in 2015, which serves customers in Kansas and western Missouri.
All TSM Group companies are certified distributors of Mazak machine tools and provide comprehensive advanced manufacturing sales, technology demonstrations, service and support.
Municipal Machinery added 55,000 square miles to the company’s service territory and strengthened its position among North American technology distributors. TSM Group now serves metalworking shops and manufacturers in Indiana, Kentucky, southern Illinois, Missouri and Kansas, according to a Feb. 22 news release posted on LinkedIn by Nick Shelton, co-owner and President of TSM Group.
“With direct service in five states, TSM Group will be one of the industry’s strongest distributor networks,” Shelton said.
He added: “Continuity for our current customers and employees is paramount. The only thing customers will have to do is grow accustomed to seeing ‘[A] TSM Group [Company]’ added to individual company names.”
