Middle market private equity firm MiddleGround Capital appointed Jonathan La as Chief Financial Officer.
La reports to Partner Christopher Speight at MiddleGround’s New York office, having started the role in February 2025.
Based in Lexington, KY, MiddleGround makes control equity investments in lower middle market B2B companies across North America and Europe, focusing on the industrial and specialty distribution sectors. Established in 2018, the firm targets businesses that can benefit from its hands-on operational expertise.

As CFO, La oversees financial operations and reporting at MiddleGround, leading the Accounting and Fund Accounting teams across the U.S. and Europe. He brings 25 years of private equity experience, including 17 years as director of finance at Monomoy Capital Partners, where he managed financial planning, treasury, tax structuring and led ERP and budgeting system upgrades.
Prior to his position at Monomoy, La was at Evercore Partners, leading the in-house transition of private equity fund records for IPOs. He previously managed PE, fund of funds and hedge fund clients at BISYS, and began his career in Deloitte’s private equity audit practice.

“His expertise in middle market private investment accounting practices is second to none, and his help in building efficient reporting structures and processes will be a great asset for our stakeholders,” MiddleGround Founding and Managing Partner John Stewart said in an April 16 news release.
