Automation products distributor Tavoron, headquartered in Eagan, MN, recently expanded its geographic footprint with two acquisitions.
On Jan. 27, the company announced the acquisition of DP Technologies Group and DP Brown of Saginaw (DP Technologies), providers of electrical and mechanical motion control systems headquartered in Saginaw, MI. On Feb. 9, the company announced the acquisition of Seltrol, along with its subsidiary B.W. Clark, a factory automation distributor headquartered in Greenville, SC.
DP Technologies
Founded in 1894, DP Technologies and DP Brown has provided automotive, food processing, material handling and general industrial applications for more than 130 years. Together, the companies specialize in complete electrical and mechanical motion control solutions, offering a comprehensive range of industrial automation products such as drives, linear motion technologies, motors, gear reducers, couplings, sensors, encoders, motion control systems, human-machine interfaces (HMIs), industrial electronics and belts.
DP Technologies Group and DP Brown of Saginaw also provide engineering support, in-house panel building, programming expertise and on-site application consultation from its locations in Saginaw and Sterling Heights, MI.
Tavaron officials stated the acquisition expands its geographic footprint in the Midwest, strengthens its automation and motion control portfolio, and enhances the company’s ability to support customers with end-to-end industrial solutions ranging from components and engineering support to fully integrated automation systems.
DP Technologies and DP Brown will continue operating from their existing locations in Saginaw, MI with their current team but will now be known as Tavoron – DP Technologies Group and Tavoron – DP Brown of Saginaw.
“DP Technologies Group and DP Brown of Saginaw’s legacy of technical expertise, engineering capability and customer-first service aligns perfectly with Tavoron’s commitment to delivering comprehensive industrial automation solutions,” Tavoron CEO Nicholas Martino said. “This acquisition broadens our offerings and deepens our ability to serve customers throughout the Midwest with the technologies, systems, and support they need to keep their operations running reliably and efficiently.”
Seltro and Subsidiary B.W. Clark
For more than 35 years, Seltrol and B.W. Clark have supported manufacturers and industrial operations with automation components and technical support. Together, the companies specialize in factory automation controls, motion and sensing products, panel-level components, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), device-level bus technologies and related engineering assistance.
In a Feb. 9 press release, Tavaron officials said the acquisition supports its strategy to deliver integrated, end-to-end automation solutions that combine mechanical, electrical, control and robotic technologies.
“Seltrol and B.W. Clark bring a strong reputation for technical knowledge, customer service, and trusted product expertise; qualities that align directly with Tavoron’s mission to elevate industrial operations across North America,” Martino said. “This acquisition fits seamlessly into our Automation Distribution segment, led by Scott Wojciak, expanding our automation portfolio and strengthening our presence in the Southeast. As a result, we’re able to deliver even more comprehensive solutions to our customers.”
Seltrol will continue operating from its headquarters in Greenville, SC with B.W. Clark maintaining operations from West Columbia, SC. Both companies will retain their local teams while integrating into Tavoron’s broader automation business.
Tavoron — acquired by private equity firm Fusion Capital Partners in January 2025 — is comprised of a diverse group of nine companies and employs approximately 400 team members across the United States and Canada.
