Former EIS Chief Exec Takes Same Post at GCG

Glenn Pennycook takes the reins at the wire, cable and automation distributor with aim to strengthen its market presence across the U.S., Mexico and EU.

Chicago, IL-based wire, cable, connectivity and automation distributor Genuine Cable Group (GCG) appointed Glenn Pennycook as its Chief Executive Officer.

Pennycook joins GCF from like distributor EIS, where he served as CEO for five years under private equity ownership. During his tenure, EIS said its revenue more than doubled, margins expanded and several acquisitions were completed.

Before EIS, Pennycook spent 12 years at Belden Corporation, leading the Enterprise platform — a company focused on data communications infrastructure, broadband and media technology.

“Our deep industry expertise, combined with an expansive supplier network and value-added services, allow us to deliver customized solutions that go beyond just products,” Pennycook said in a March 4 news release. “From automation and industrial connectivity to communications, renewables, and utility infrastructure, we help businesses solve complex challenges and keep operations running smoothly.
