Norwalk, CT-based anchor manufacturer US Anchors (USA) was acquired by private investment firm Kinderhook Industries.

Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Established in 1968, USA is the parent company of brands that include TOGGLER, Wej-It and Heckmann, which specialize in construction anchors, fasteners and other building components. USA also has a distribution division — Gotham Building Supplies. As part of the acquisition, Jordan Eisenberg will become the CEO and join the USA leadership team, working closely with the Garfield family — the company’s founders — to “drive the company’s continue success.”

See MDM’s Investment Bank Directory for a rundown of the key investment banks and advisory firms in the distribution sector.

The Garfield family will maintain an ownership interest in the company, and Ted Garfield will become a member of the board of directors.

“We are looking forward to partnering with the Garfield Family and the rest of the USA team to accelerate the Company’s growth through continued customer service and product availability, as well as organic and inorganic geographic expansion.” Kinderhook Principal Nate Druckenmiller said in a Jan. 28 news release. “The Garfield family has transformed USA over many years and has laid the groundwork for significant growth ahead. We are eager to support USA in accelerating its expansion while preserving the strong culture and commitment to excellence that have been key to the Company’s success.”
