Knoxville, TN-based industrial gases distributor Holston Gases has purchased Athens Gas and Welding Supply — a distributor of scientific, welding and industrial gases, based in Athens, GA, according to an March 31 news release. This is Holston’s fifth location in Georgia and 46th overall across Tennessee, Kentucky, Alabama, North Carolina, South Carolina and Georgia.
In a March 31 news release, Holston Gases President Joe Baxter said, “We are excited to add the Athens Gas and Welding employees, customers and product lines to those of Holston Gases. This is a perfect fit. Athens Gas and Welding has an outstanding reputation in Northeast Georgia, and we look forward to partnering with them to enhance the offerings they can provide their customers.”
“We are very proud to become part of the larger Holston Gases family. Combining with Holston’s people and resources will be great for our customers,” Athens Gas and Welding Owner Lance McMurray added.
Holston Gases, a regional distributor of industrial, medical, specialty and propane gases as well as welding, safety and industrial supplies, acquired South Carolina-based Nitro-Derm and Alabama-based Advanced Welding Supply this past summer.
