Foodservice redistributor Honor Foods opened a new distribution center in Kissimmee, FL, expanding the company’s presence in the Southeast and its product availability.

The 156,000-square-foot DC will serve as Honor Foods’ Southeast regional hub and the new base for all Sunny Morning Orlando operations. This expansion follows Honor Foods’ June 2023 acquisition of Sunny Morning, a foodservice redistributor with a background in dairy.

According to the release, the facility features 32 loading docks and frozen, refrigerated and dry storage zones. It supports cross-docking, palletizing at the pallet and case level and container handling. Three-temperature delivery trucks help maintain product quality across categories. These capabilities allow for shorter lead times, lower minimum order quantities and improved access to products for smaller distributors.

The DC serves Florida, the broader Southeast, Latin America and the Caribbean, also offering third-party logistics (3PL) services for businesses operating in Central Florida. Honor Foods said the expansion allows Sunday Morning customers to access a broader product portfolio and provides current Honor Foods customers with improved reach in the region.

To support the new operations, the facility opened with more than 20 new positions and plans to add another 20 within the first year. Once fully operational, Honor Foods said the site is expected to support nearly 100 jobs across transportation, logistics, warehousing, sales, IT, administration and purchasing.
