Pharmaceutical and medical and laboratory products distributor Cardinal Health has begun construction of a 350,000-square-foot logistics center in Columbus, OH, which will serve as a centralized replenishment center for the distribution of over-the-counter consumer health products in support of its core pharmaceutical business.

Located in the Rickenbacker Global Logistics Park, the new Consumer Health Logistics Center — scheduled to be fully operational by summer 2025 — will be the fourth Cardinal Health distribution facility in Central Ohio, along with its corporate headquarters in Dublin.

“Over the past five years, we’ve seen rapid growth in the demand for consumer health products,” said Debbie Weitzman, CEO of Cardinal Health’s Pharmaceutical and Specialty Solutions, in an April 2 news release.

The distributor will implement advanced inventory management systems in the logistics center to improve supply chain resiliency and offer customers a broader range of product options. It will also feature the latest logistics technology and Honeywell Intelligrated software-enabled automation and operator workflows

Cardinal Health’s revenue for fiscal year 2023 (ended June 30) was $205 billion, a 13% increase from fiscal year 2022.
