Praxair’s Sales Up 10%

Company posts first-quarter sales of $3 billion, profit of $462 million.

Praxair Inc. (NYSE: PX), Danbury, CT, reported first-quarter sales of $3 billion, 10 percent above the same period in 2017. Profit was $462 million, including transaction costs of $18 million related to the company’s proposed merger with Linde AG.

Sales in North America grew 7 percent to $1.5 billion, sales in Europe grew 20 percent to $428 million, sales in South America grew 2 percent to $365 million, and sales in Asia were up 21 percent to $476 million.
