Rockwell Automation, Inc. (NYSE: ROK), Milwaukee, WI, reported sales for the second quarter ended March 31, 2011, were $1.46 billion, an increase of 26 percent from the same period a year ago. Profit increased 21.5 percent to $166.4 million.

Fiscal year to date, sales were $2.8 billion, an increase of 27.3 percent over the prior-year period. Profit increased 48.2 percent to $316.5 million.
\”Our strong revenue performance in the first half, continued strength in the industrial sector and an increased tailwind from currency are positives as we enter the third quarter. However, events such as the earthquake in Japan and unrest in the Middle East and North Africa have added uncertainty to the global macroeconomic environment,\” CEO Keith D. Nosbusch said.
Architecture & Software fiscal 2011 second quarter sales were $624.2 million, an increase of 21 percent from the second quarter of fiscal 2010. Segment operating earnings were $152.2 million.
Control Products & Solutions fiscal 2011 second quarter sales were $839.9 million, an increase of 30 percent from the second quarter of fiscal 2010. Segment operating earnings were $92.0 million.
