Plumbing, HVAC and industrial supplies distributor Ferguson acquired Gerster Equipment Co, and United Water Works, Inc.

Gerster Equipment Co.

Buffalo, NY-based Gerster Equipment — a distributor of Trane and Mitsubishi HVAC brands — has a second location in Syracuse, NY.

United Water Works, Inc.

Santa Ana, CA-based United Water Works is a distributor of piping and water, storm and sewer products. The company serves customers in Orange County and the greater LA area. The acquisition expands the company’s product offerings to include erosion control and stormwater management products.

The additions made for 10 total acquisitions Ferguson made during its 2024 fiscal year, which ended July 31. More long-term, Ferguson completed more than 50 acquisitions in the past five year across various end markets and representing a spectrum of company sizes.

“We’ve had a good mix of acquisitions this fiscal year from plumbing and HVAC to waterworks and fire protection,” Ferguson CEO Kevin Murphy said in an Aug. 13 news release. “These acquisitions are an important part of our growth strategy, and our pipeline is strong moving into the next fiscal year.”

On Aug. 1, Ferguson announced the official re-domiciliation of its corporate headquarters to the U.S. to reflect its head office in Newport News, VA.

For Industrial PVF, No. 3 for Industrial Supplies, No. 3 for Building Materials/Construction — serves customers in its $340 billion residential and non-residential North American construction market. In the fiscal year 2023, Ferguson had a revenue of $29.7 billion.
