Foodservice distribution giant Sysco Corp. has acquired upstate New York distributor Ginsberg’s Foods, according to multiple local reports.
With 2025 sales of $81 billion, Sysco is the largest food and foodservice products distributor in the United States. The company operates 337 distribution centers in 10 countries. It has 75,000 employees and 730,000 customer locations.S

Ginsberg’s Foods — a fourth-generation, family-owned wholesale distributor — began in 1909 as a grocery store and later grew into a regional food wholesale distributor with approximately 300 employees today. The company was owned by Nancy Fuller and David Ginsberg with fourth-generation family member John Brusie leading the company as President and COO.
Ginsberg’s Foods delivers to restaurants, K-12 schools, colleges and healthcare facilities in eastern New York, southern Vermont, western Massachusets, northwestern Connecticut and Northeastern Pennsylvannia.
The acquisition is expected to strengthen Sysco’s position in the northeast. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
