Europe’s largest MRO supplies distributor, Rubix, has acquired the French compressed air specialist Airflux and its two subsidiaries Int’ Air Media and Synairgies.

Founded in 1983 by Serge Boutry and headquartered in Lille, France, Airflux has 230 employees and approximately €50m ($58 million) in annual sales. The business is a specialist in the sale and maintenance of air compressors.
According to a Dec. 17 announcement, current Airflux CEO Gilles Verstraete will remain with the Group for two years to oversee the transition and integration of the business into the Rubix France organization.
Commenting on the acquisition, CEO Rubix France Alexandre Labasse said: “I am delighted to welcome my new colleagues to the Group. Airflux complements our existing compressed air expertise to create a leading player in the French market. We can now offer our customers a broader portfolio of products and services that reduce the unnecessary costs and environmental impact associated with compressed air leakage.”
News of the acquisition came two weeks after Rubix announced a group-wide supplier review and about six weeks after appointed a new CEO and completed its acquisition of ERIKS UK & Ireland and bearings distributor Konrad Haluk .
