Phoenix, Arizona-based Ewing Outdoor Supply announced a series of executive leadership changes across the company and its Landscape Products business.
The moves include a previously announced CEO transition set for July 1, when Tom Childers will become President and CEO of Ewing Outdoor Supply. Current President and CEO Douglas York — formerly the 2020 Chairman of NAW’s Board of Directors — will transition to Ewing’s Strategic Advisor and Board Member. Ewing said in March that the change is part of a multi-year succession plan designed to support its next phase of growth.
Ewing announced June 1 that Steve Deist, currently Chief Financial Officer, will assume a dual role as Chief Operating Officer of Ewing Outdoor Supply and CEO of Landscape Products Inc., the company’s OEM brand, effective Sept. 1. Deist will guide Ewing’s operational oversight while leading Landscape Products’ commercial strategy, product engineering, manufacturing operations and distribution.
As part of that transition, Richard York will move from his role as President and CEO of Landscape Products to manage other corporate ventures with the York family alongside Douglas York.
On June 2, Ewing announced that Jack York will become CFO, effective Sept. 1. York currently serves as Ewing’s Mountain States Divisional Vice President and will begin a three-month transition period from his current divisional role. As CFO, he will oversee corporate finance, financial planning and analysis, accounting, treasury and capital allocation strategy.
York represents the fourth generation of family leadership at Ewing. He previously worked in mergers and acquisitions at Solomon Partners and has held several operational roles at Ewing, including Branch Manager, National Irrigation Product Manager, Director of Product Line Management and Regional Manager.
Ewing also promoted Jackson Kintzinger to Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing, effective July 1. Kintzinger currently serves as Director of Sales and Marketing and previously worked in Ewing’s financial planning and analysis function after joining the company in 2016 as a financial analyst.
Founded in 1922, Ewing Outdoor Supply has more than 260 locations and serves irrigation and landscape contractors with products and services for the green industry.
