IBT Industrial Solutions has acquired Indesco — a Charlotte, NC-based distributor of hydraulic, pneumatic and power transmission components.
The transaction, announced July 6, expands Merriam, KS-based IBT’s geographic presence into the Southeast and adds Indesco’s technical capabilities serving original equipment manufacturer and maintenance, repair and operations customers. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Founded more than 40 years ago, Indesco distributes hydraulic valves, manifolds, cylinders, accumulators, pumps, motors, hoses and filtration products. Its portfolio also includes pneumatic components, air cylinders, bearings, gearboxes, speed reducers, heat exchangers and related machinery components.
Indesco additionally designs and builds custom hydraulic power units for new and existing equipment applications.
The company serves customers throughout the Southeast from its Charlotte facility, supporting applications in agriculture, food and beverage, material handling, textile equipment, woodworking machinery, production automation, industrial maintenance and general manufacturing.
“This acquisition strengthens IBT’s ability to support customers with technical industrial solutions and expands our presence in a strong Southeastern market,” IBT President and CEO Jeff Cloud said in the announcement. “Indesco has a customer-focused culture, deep product knowledge and strong supplier relationships that align well with IBT’s approach to helping customers keep their operations running.”
IBT said it will work with Indesco’s team over the coming months to develop an integration plan covering the acquired company’s customers, suppliers, employees, systems and operations. The distributor said the process will seek to preserve the strengths that have supported Indesco’s growth and customer relationships.
“We are excited to welcome the Indesco team to IBT,” IBT Vice President of Sales Kyle Dixon added. “Together, we see meaningful opportunities to build on Indesco’s legacy, expand support for customers and continue delivering the service and expertise both companies are known for.”
IBT supplies industrial products and provides engineering, industrial rubber, maintenance, repair and training services. Its offerings include automation and motion control systems, conveyor solutions, hose and hydraulic services, vibration analysis, gearbox repair, specialty machining and vendor-managed inventory programs.
