Dallas-based private equity firm Trinity Hunt Partners has formed Steadpoint Industrial Services, an industrial aftermarket maintenance, repair and operations services platform serving manufacturers, distributors and other industrial customers.
Michigan-based Northline Industrial will anchor Steadpoint as the platform’s foundational investment, according to a July 30 announcement. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Founded in 2006, Northline provides industrial repair, field services, outsourced repair, equipment sales, staffing and integration services. The company specializes in servicing mechanical, electronic and robotic equipment, including motors, drives, welders, CNC systems and automation controls.
Northline operates five coordinated business units with locations in Michigan, Indiana and North Carolina. It serves more than 375 customers annually, including manufacturers and distributors across the U.S., with a focus on recurring maintenance relationships and technical services that help customers limit equipment downtime.
Steadpoint plans to bring together specialized aftermarket MRO service providers while supplying acquired companies with shared resources and operational support. The platform said it intends to preserve the local expertise, customer relationships and culture of its partner companies.
Trinity Hunt plans to expand Steadpoint through acquisitions of industrial MRO service companies across the U.S., along with organic initiatives aimed at developing a more formal go-to-market operation. The private equity firm described the specialized industrial repair and maintenance market as large and highly fragmented, with opportunities to gain efficiencies through greater scale.
“Automation and advanced manufacturing are driving growing, consistent and recurring demand for industrial MRO services,” Trinity Hunt Partner Garrett Greer said, adding that Northline’s technical capabilities and workforce provide a foundation for building a national platform.
Northline co-founder Chuck Baase said the company sought a partner that understood its business and valued the employees who helped build it during the past two decades.
Steadpoint also appointed Courtney Pernat as chief financial officer and Ross Morgan as chief development officer. Pernat previously served as CFO of fire and life safety services platform Summit Companies, while Morgan previously led mergers and acquisitions for landscaping services platform Mariani Premier Group.
