Portland, OR-based fasteners manufacturer and distributor Portland Bolt & Manufacturing Co. has acquired Threadline Products — a Charlotte, NC-based manufacturer of custom anchor bolts, threaded rod and fabricated structural steel products.

Portland Bolt announced the deal Aug. 6. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Founded in 1984, Threadline serves construction distributors, steel fabricators and Department of Transportation customers. Its product portfolio includes anchor bolts, threaded rod, embeds, plates, lintels, pipe bollards and smooth dowels. The company combined with fellow Charlotte-based fabricator Atlantic Bolt in 2022, nearly doubling its manufacturing and warehousing capacity before consolidating operations at a single Charlotte headquarters.

Portland Bolt said the acquisition expands its manufacturing capabilities and East Coast presence while complementing its hot-dip galvanizing capacity in North Augusta, SC.

“Combining Charlotte’s fabrication and threading capabilities with our in-house hot-dip galvanizing capacity in South Carolina allows us to keep more work within the Portland Bolt network, shorten lead times and offer customers a broader, more integrated solution,” Portland Bolt CEO Blake Ray said.

Portland Bolt will retain Threadline’s employees and continue operating its Charlotte facility. Threadline co-owner Josh Miller will remain with the business during the transition. The operation will be renamed Portland Bolt Charlotte in the coming weeks while maintaining its existing products, service levels and customer relationships.

Founded in 1912, Portland Bolt manufactures and distributes standard and nonstandard construction fasteners. Following the acquisition, the company operates five facilities across Oregon, South Carolina, Vermont, New York and North Carolina, including two locations with in-house hot-dip galvanizing lines.
