Food packaging solution manufacturer Sabert Corp. opened a 300,000-square-foot distribution center in Locust Grove, Georgia, in a move that expands the company’s U.S. distribution network.
The new facility represents one of the company’s most significant recent supply chain investments. It will help to reduce delivery times and support growing customer demand throughout the Southeast, including Georgia, Florida, Alabama, Mississippi, South Carolina and North Carolina.
By positioning inventory of molded fiber pulp, paper and plastic food packaging solutions closer to the company’s Southeast customers, the center will increase storage capacity across the entire network and shorten transit time in the region, company officials said in an Aug. 18 news release.
“This investment represents both our commitment to our customers and our confidence in the continued growth of the Southeast market,” said Paul McCann, CEO, Sabert Corporation. “Our customers in this region have helped drive our success for many years, and this facility allows us to respond faster and better serve customers as their partner of choice.”
The new location complements Sabert’s North American network, which includes seven U.S. production sites.
