Lake Worth, FL-based aluminum products distributor EMS announced Sept. 30 that it acquired AMD Supply, expanding its fencing and hurricane protection offerings. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Founded in 2006 and headquartered in Deerfield Beach, FL, AMD supplies fence contractors, general contractors, manufacturers, dealers and builders. Its territory spans Florida and the broader Southeastern U.S., along with the Caribbean and Latin America.
AMD’s product lineup includes aluminum and vinyl fencing, hurricane shutters, standard and custom aluminum extrusions, tubular motors and accessories, screen doors, hardware and castings.
“The acquisition expands our offering across fencing and hurricane protection products,” EMS CEO Mike Swedick said. He also cited AMD’s customer service, product availability and technical expertise.
The deal marks EMS’s eighth acquisition under private equity firm Wynnchurch Capital’s ownership.
It follows EMS’s May acquisition of American Metals Supply — a Tampa, FL-based aluminum distributor serving patio and industrial markets. That business supplies standard and custom products, including extrusions, bars, coil, sheet and plate. Wynnchurch acquired EMS in October 2019.
Founded in 1982 with one Florida location, EMS now operates more than 20 distribution and manufacturing facilities totaling nearly 2 million square feet. It serves industrial, commercial, residential and marine markets.
