Rolling Meadows, IL-based Gravis — formed in early 2024 via the combination of six dry bulk packaging solutions distributors — announced April 21 that it has acquired Western Packaging Solutions in Montreal, Canada.
WPS is a like distributor of flexible intermediate bulk containers (FIBCs), woven polypropylene bags and BOPP woven bags.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Founded in 2015, WPS serves customers across Canada, the U.S. and India with bulk packaging products and global sourcing capabilities.
The acquisition expands Gravis’ geographic footprint in Canada and strengthens its position across North America.
“This acquisition represents an important step in strengthening our position as North America’s leading provider of bulk transportation packaging by meaningfully expanding our Canadian footprint,” Gravis CEO Vishal Rao said in a news release.
Gravis — a portfolio company of New Water Capital — offers a portfolio of dry bulk packaging products including FIBCs, bulk liners, pallet liners and plastic pallets, serving end markets such as food, agriculture, chemicals and industrial goods.
The deal follows Gravis’ March acquisition of Procon Pacific — another distributor of bulk packaging products — as the company continues to build scale and expand its sourcing and commercial capabilities.
