Packaging supplies distributor SupplyOne announced Oct. 1 that it has acquired Packaging Design Corporation, a Burr Ridge, IL-based manufacturer of custom corrugated packaging. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Founded in 1968, Packaging Design will continue under owner Scott Jones’ leadership. Its offerings include branded packaging, point-of-purchase displays and packaging for eCommerce, retail and industrial applications.
SupplyOne President and CEO Todd Renehan said the acquisition adds “additional capabilities in branded packaging and point-of-purchase displays.”
“The addition of Packaging Design Corporation further strengthens our presence in the important Chicago area while adding additional capabilities in branded packaging and point-of-purchase displays,” said Todd Renehan, President and CEO of SupplyOne. “Packaging Design has built a strong reputation over nearly six decades by combining innovative packaging design, manufacturing expertise and a commitment to understanding its customers’ needs. This customer-first approach aligns closely with SupplyOne and makes Packaging Design Corporation a natural fit for our growing organization.”
The transaction is SupplyOne’s 49th acquisition since its 1998 founding and second in the Chicago area.
It also marks the company’s fourth acquisition announcement of 2026, following three announced deals in 2025.
SupplyOne’s previous Chicago expansion came through Wertheimer Box, announced in January. Founded in 1939 and based in McCook, IL, Wertheimer provides custom shipping boxes, branded packaging, eCommerce mailers and specialty retail displays. SupplyOne’s latest announcement clarifies that the Wertheimer transaction closed at the end of 2025.
In March, SupplyOne announced its acquisition of Specialty Packaging, an East Hartford, CT-based distributor founded in 2012. That deal expanded SupplyOne’s New England presence and added food packaging and equipment capabilities, along with warehousing and logistics services. Founders Chris Orsini and Keith Streib remained to lead the business.
SupplyOne followed in June with Compass Packaging Solutions of North Billerica, MA. Founded in 2011, Compass provides custom protective packaging, warehousing, distribution, fulfillment and kitting services for life sciences, semiconductor, technology and defense customers. Owner Rick Meissner continued leading the company after the acquisition.
Newtown Square, PA-based SupplyOne operates more than 60 locations across the U.S. and Canada, with packaging distribution and custom corrugated, foam, wood and plastics converting capabilities.
