MDM is proud to unveil our second annual set of “Industry Titans” — a prestigious group of leading distribution companies recognized for sustained excellence, innovation and industry leadership. This designation is bestowed upon companies that have ranked in the top three of at least one category on MDM’s annual Top Distributors Lists for the past five consecutive years.
ON DEMAND: See our Top Distributors Webinar that analyzed this year’s biggest lists.
This year’s honorees represent the gold standard in wholesale distribution — not just in scale, but in the consistent ability to lead, adapt and deliver value through changing markets and customer demands.
When MDM launched our Industry Titans recognition in 2025, it wasn’t to give these market leaders another accolade — they get those frequently enough as it is. Whereas our Top Distributors feature provides a more extensive snapshot into the largest companies across the industrial, commercial and building supply product verticals we research and report on, Industry Titans is tailored specifically as a focused look at the top of the mountain and identifying which of these distributors have shown staying power at the summit. It is recognition of sustained excellence amid the new normal of constant industry disruption.
As expected, there was little year-to-year movement for our 2026 Industry Titans vs. 2025. Once these companies achieve Titans status, they tend to keep it. The biggest change was the addition of our Fasteners Top Distributors List for Industry Titans eligibility, with 2026 being its fifth year as a ranked list, and that earns both Fastenal and Wurth Industry North America Titans status as the longstanding market leaders there. Elsewhere, DNOW earned Titans Status in Industrial PVF.
Our next two Top Distributors Lists that will become eligible for Industry Titans are Safety, and JanSan/Packaging/Disposables, but not until 2028 for both.
There are 18 total companies with MDM Industry Titan status between the 12 Top Distributors Lists that we have ranked for at least five years. Ferguson and Motion are an Industry Titan on three different lists apiece, while Grainger, Applied Industrial Technologies and SunSource each appear twice.
