December 2017 M&A Roundup: Winsupply Closes Year with 2 Deals

Company adds distributors in Washington, Arizona to bring 2017 total to five.

Dayton, OH-based Winsupply, No. 8 on MDM's 2017 list of the Top Industrial Distributors, made two acquisitions in December, headlining a moderately paced month for distribution M&A.

The company expanded in the west with both deals. Winsupply acquired Tacoma Electric Supply LLC, a Washington-based distributor of electrical equipment and supplies with locations in Tacoma and Puyallup.

Later in the month it acquired Tomas Pipe & Supply, Phoenix, AZ, a distributor of industrial pipe, valves and fittings.

I wrote about Winsupply's growth strategy in a September blog, and the company continued its acquisition approach with these latest deals, which follow its October purchase of Certified Plumbing and Electrical Supply Co Inc., Live Oak, FL, and its November purchase of APCO Inc., Lansing, MI.

The company made five acquisitions in 2017 and also opened 10 new locations.
