The Power Transmission Distributors Association (PTDA) and Bearing Specialists Association (BSA) added three new product categories to their PIE Technology Platform (PIE).
The three product categories — open gearing, enclosed gearing and adjustable/variable speed drives — expand the total platform offering in the bearing and power transmission/motion control categories to 35.
PIE serves as a platform for manufacturers and distributors of industrial products, facilitating access to catalogs for sharing product information. Developed by subject matter experts from BSA and PTDA, the PIE Template is the only standardized format for industrial bearings and PT/MC products. Authorized distributor partners have access to the platform while ensuring manufacturers maintain data ownership, enabling both manufacturers and distributors to benefit from the offering.
PTDA announced the addition of two manufacturers and one associate member Oct. 1. The association hosted its annual Industry Summit Oct. 23-25 in San Antonio, where MDM was in attendance.
