HVAC products and solutions manufacturer’s representative agency Meriton announced a pair of acquisitions on Aug. 11 and July 31 as the firm continues to expand its network.
Terms of the transactions were not disclosed.
With the additions, Meriton now operates in 24 states through 15 affiliate companies, continuing its regionally-driven growth strategy emphasizing local leadership and technical expertise.
Engineered Equipment Sales and Testing, Inc
Merion expanded its presence in New Mexico and El Paso, TX with the acquisition of Engineered Equipment Sales and Testing.
Albuquerque, NM-based EES, a manufacturer’s representative for HVAC equipment, was founded in 2003 and expanded into El Paso in 2011. The company is being integrated by MPSW, a Meriton affiliate focused on the Southwest HVAC market.

The acquisition expands Meriton’s presence in the Southwest, allowing MPSW to offer product lines such as Johnson Controls, York, and Armstrong across New Mexico and West Texas. EEST staff will join MPSW in a new, larger Albuquerque office, while a new El Paso location will support regional sales and service.
As part of Meriton, the EEST team will gain access to shared services including accounting, HR, IT, safety, training and marketing, aimed at improving operational efficiency while maintaining local customer support.
“EEST is exactly the kind of company we look for — technically sharp, locally trusted and rooted in a people-first culture,” Meriton CEO Jerry Braun said in an Aug. 11 news release. “Their reputation for solving complex HVAC challenges with accuracy and care makes them a perfect fit. With MPSW leading the integration, we’re accelerating growth while honoring the strength of our regional teams.”
Field Mechanical and Specialty Air
On July 31, Meriton announced its expansion into Missouri through acquisitions of Fields Mechanical Systems and Specialty Air Conditioning Services — both based in Springfield — extending its HVAC operations to 23 states through 14 affiliate companies.
Fields Mechanical provides customized HVAC solutions for complex environments and Meriton notes that it holds significant market share nationally. Specialty Air Conditioning Services provides repair, maintenance and installation of residential and commercial HVAC systems, including rooftop units, chillers, evaporative coolers and split systems. Services also include duct cleaning, air purification and refrigeration work.
See MDM’s Investment Bank Directory for a rundown of the key investment banks and advisory firms in the distribution sector.
Both companies will continue to operate under existing leadership following the transaction. Meriton’s national resources are expected to support further growth and service expansion across the Midwest.
Fields and Specialty Air will maintain their focus on technical expertise and customer service, strengthening Meriton’s position in the region.
Braun added in a separate release: “These are the kinds of companies you build a network around. Fields and Specialty Air bring deep roots in Missouri, long-standing client trust and an unwavering commitment to quality. We’re thrilled to have them join the Meriton family.”
