MRO parts and industrial technology products distributor Motion announced Nov. 4 that it has acquired Sunset Industrial in the Los Angeles suburb of Cerritos, CA.
Terms were not disclosed for the deal, which closed Nov. 1.

“The addition of Sunset aligns with Motion’s growth strategy while increasing value to local customers,” Motion President James Howe said in a news release. “We look forward to welcoming the talented Sunset team and further increasing our market leadership in Southern California.”

Sunset marks Motion’s third acquisition of 2025.
With over $8 billion in annual sales, Motion decorated MDM’s 2025 Top Distributors Lists, ranking No. 2 for Industrial Supplies, No. 23 for Electrical, No. 2 for MRO, No. 1 Power Transmission/Bearings, No. 3 for Fluid Power, No. 2 for Hose and No. 8 for Safety. The company has over 750 branches globally, including 600+ and 13 distribution centers in North America.
