Plumbing, PVF, HVAC, infrastructure and industrial supplies distributor Ferguson Enterprises reported strong sales for its fiscal quarter ended Oct. 31, particularly in non-residential. The company also updated guidance for calendar year 2025, and announced its latest acquisition.
For the third quarter ended Oct. 31, the Newport News, VA-based company reported sales of $8.2 billion — up 5.1% year-over-year.
U.S. sales increased 5.3%, with organic revenue up 4.4% and acquisitions contributing 0.9%. Residential end markets, representing approximately half of US revenue, remained challenged. Residential revenue was down 1% in the quarter. Non-residential end markets, representing approximately half of US revenue, rose 12% during the quarter.
Canada sales grew 2.2%, with organic growth of 0.7% as acquisitions contributed 4.6%.
Gross margin of 30.7% grew 60 basis points from a year earlier, while operating profit of $771 million on 9.4% margin jumped 15.9%. Net profit of $808 million rose 14.4% over the prior year, while adjusted EBITDA of $867 million improved 14.4%.
Chicago Area Acquisition
Ferguson completed one acquisition during the quarter, Moore Supply Company, an HVAC equipment and supplies business operating from five locations in the Chicago metro area.
Fiscal Year Change and Updated Guidance
Ferguson is changing its fiscal year-end from July 31 to Dec. 31, following a five-month transition period that began Aug. 1. The company will begin reporting on a calendar year basis effective Jan. 1, 2026.
Ferguson said it remains confident in the 2025 calendar year results with expected growth in sales of 5% vs. 2024. The outlook for adjusted operations was revised slightly upward to 9.4-9.6%.
Ferguson decorated MDM’s 2025 Top Distributors Lists, including No. 1 for Plumbing, No. 2 for HVACR, No. 2 for Industrial PVF, No. 11 for Building Materials/Construction and No. 12 for Industrial Supplies. The company was also named one of MDM’s 2025 Industry Titans.
