Electrical and industrial supplies distributor Graybar posted the highest quarterly sales and net income in its history during the second quarter of 2026.

The St. Louis-based company reported 2Q net sales of $3.8 billion, up 11.8% year-over-year. Net income increased 14.8% to $158.6 million.

“Achieving record second quarter results reflects the dedication of our employees and their commitment to delivering the best customer experience in the industry,” Graybar Chairman, President and CEO Kathleen Mazzarella said in an Aug. 3 news release. “These results also demonstrate the strength of our long-term strategy and the disciplined execution of key priorities across our business.”

For the first six months of 2026, Graybar generated sales of $7.1 billion, a 12.1% increase from the same period last year. First-half net income jumped 25.7% to $300.5 million.

The results followed a record-setting first quarter in which Graybar posted sales of $3.3 billion, up 12.4% year-over-year and its second-highest quarterly total at the time. Its 1Q net income surged 40.6% to a then-record $142 million.

Graybar’s latest results extend the momentum from 2025, when company sales increased 10.6% to $12.9 billion.

The company also announced Aug. 3 that it completed its acquisition of Samson Electrical Supply, a South Plainfield, NJ-based electrical distributor founded in 1949. Terms were not disclosed.

Samson supplies electrical products, lighting solutions, power distribution equipment and MRO support to commercial, industrial, residential, institutional and utility customers. It will operate as a Graybar subsidiary under its existing name with the same employees and suppliers.

The transaction represents Graybar’s third acquisition of 2026. In May, the company acquired American Electric Supply, expanding its Southern California presence with a distributor of electrical products, lighting, switchgear and related solutions. Graybar completed its acquisition of Broken Arrow Electric Supply in March, adding seven Oklahoma locations.

Graybar operates 355 distribution facilities across North America.
