GE Appliances, a Haier company, announced planes to invest over $3 billion in its U.S. operations, workforce and local communities over the next five years.

GE said the investment will expand its air conditioning and water heating portfolio, increase production across all product lines and modernize its 11 U.S. manufacturing plants with automation and new equipment. The first phase begins at plants in Kentucky, Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee and South Carolina.
