SRS Distribution Acquires Marsh Building Products

SRS has acquired Marsh and its eight locations in Ohio and Kentucky.

Texas-based roofing and building supplies distributor SRS Distribution announced Jan. 27 its acquisition of Marsh Building Products Inc., a distributor of residential and commercial building products. Financial details of the transaction were not disclosed. SRS Distribution ranked No. 6 on MDM’s 2022 Top Building Materials/Construction Distributors list.

Founded in 1989 by brothers Ken and Mike Middleton, Marsh is based in Fort Thomas, Kentucky, in the Cincinnati metro area. The company, which is run today by president Patrick McNickle, has eight locations across Ohio and Kentucky and has roughly 130 employees. Following the acquisition, McNickle will continue to run the business, which will retain its Marsh branding, according to a news release.

“Marsh has had an immense amount of success over the years thanks to its exceptional customer service and people-first mentality, making it a fantastic cultural fit with SRS,” SRS president and CEO Dan Tinker said in the release. “The company adds considerable complementary product volume to our current footprint in the Midwest, which will enhance our ability to provide a one-stop-shop experience to both new and existing customers throughout the region.”

“This was a carefully considered and purposeful decision to protect our most important asset, our people, and ensure they were being entrusted to an organization that shares the same values as we do,” Ken and Mike Middleton said in a statement of their decision to sell Marsh. “Joining the SRS family of independent companies will create new opportunities for our team, customers, and vendors as we continue to accelerate our track record of sales and market share growth for years to come.”
