We Supply America — an online video series documenting the human stories of distribution leaders and their workforce — premiers the first episode of its second season on Sept. 8 with plumbing distributor First Supply as the first company featured.

The second season will again showcase the We Supply America’s summer road tour of distribution firms across the U.S., hosted and produced by Dirk Beveridge.

Dirk Beveridge

“For two summers, I have visited dozens of distributors, talking with their teams and gaining an unprecedented view of what’s happening at the ground level in this industry,” said Dirk Beveridge, Executive Producer at We Supply America and Champion for the noble calling of distribution for over 36 years. “What I learned is that there are forces at work in our businesses calling on us to be different leaders than we were going into the pandemic.”

Season two of the eight-episode docuseries will kick off with First Supply, a family-owned distributor of plumbing, HVAC, waterworks and industrial supplies based in Madison, Wisconsin. Each episode reflecting a new type of distribution leader.

“Coming out of the pandemic, people changed the way they talked about work,” said Katie Poehling Seymour, First Supply CEO. “We were working in our homes for so long, that everyone saw a part of our lives they have never seen before. This created a different environment in the way we live and work together. I think this all plays into how our employees feel engaged and the ability to tell the stories that connect them to our history.”

The schedule for We Supply America’s season two’s releases is:

  • First Supply – Sept. 8
  • Robert Weed Corp. – Sept. 15
  • Rocket Industrial – Sept. 22
  • Dakota Supply Group – Sept. 29
  • CH Briggs – Oct. 6
  • Jaeckle Distributors – Oct. 13
  • Eastern – Oct. 20
  • L&R Distributors – Oct. 27

Episodes are hosted here.

On the same day these episodes are released, Beveridge and the leaders of each company will hold a LinkedIn Live session. The first Live session is Sept. 8 at 2:30 ET. Sign up to view them here.

“These films are more than just a show about business,” Beveridge said. “It’s a show about people who see their work’s dignity and importance as well as purpose-driven leaders who are moving distribution into the future.”

Beveridge at Poehling Seymour at MDM’s SHIFT

Beveridge — an author and keynote speaker who founded We Supply America and UnleashWD — and Poehling Seymour will both also speak at MDM’s upcoming SHIFT | The Future of Distribution conference Sept. 25-27 in Broomfield, Colorado. On the morning of Sept. 27, Beveridge will deliver a “Re-Imagine Leadership for Distribution” session that will share findings from UnleashWD’s new research into three forces — external, internal and people — that define new leadership in distribution. Immediately following that, Beveridge will host an “Innovating Distribution Culture Panel” that Poehling Seymour is a panelist on.
