Mighty Distributing System of America announced June 3 that it has acquired PREMA Canada, expanding the Peachtree Corners, Georgia-based auto parts distributor’s distribution network into the Canadian market.
The acquisition was effective June 2. Terms were not disclosed.
Mighty said the deal gives the company a direct presence in Canada and strengthens its position in the North American automotive aftermarket. PREMA Canada brings an established customer base, supplier relationships and expertise in the Canadian aftermarket, Mighty said in the announcement.
PREMA’s website describes the company as one of Canada’s largest distributors of tire and wheel service supplies, with offerings that include tire repair materials, tire repair tools, TPMS products, valves and accessories, wheel balancing supplies, tire service chemicals, shop supplies and related automotive service products.
“We have been working to expand into the Canadian market, and this acquisition is a natural next step in Mighty’s growth,” Mighty President and CEO Josh D’Agostino said in the announcement. “PREMA Canada and Mighty are much the same and share a common history. PREMA’s commitment to customer relationships and service aligns with the standards Mighty has upheld for more than 60 years.”
Mighty said it will begin the integration process immediately, with operational updates and partnership opportunities expected in the coming weeks.
Mighty provides inventory management, category expertise, training and distribution solutions for automotive service customers, offering OE-quality automotive parts, chemicals, lubricants, shop supplies and related aftermarket products. The company supports a network of franchised distributors across the U.S. and international markets.
